Still

I pick Jaden up in 23 minutes, and our Christmas holiday will begin.  Enjoying a few last moments of quiet.  It's even still and peaceful outside.

Winnipeg Goldeyes vs Wichita Wingnuts

I took Jaden to his first ever baseball game. I asked Jaden about his favorite part...thinking it would be one of the many treats he had. Nope. He said "when our team scored." :). The building in the background is the Canadian Human Rights Museum, opening in 2014.

I took a pic of the guys on the field during a "Pork Trivia" contest - I liked his bacon suit.

Moose Lake

Last week we went out to Moose Lake, located in Southeastern Manitoba. Our family has been going since my brothers were kids.

I drove a boat for the first time in many years... And the boys got to try their hand at fishing. We didn't catch anything but saw a few perch and a jack fish follow our lures up to the boat. Jaden exclaimed he thought it was going to be a good trip but he didn't think it would be that good.

Lower Fort Garry - mid-July

One of our many stops this trip was to Lower Fort Garry. Important during the fur trade, the fort is filled with some of the important history of Manitoba. The boys enjoyed visiting with people from the era (actors) and taking part in a posse to solve a murder mystery x

Coyote Hills Regional Park

It was a very busy weekend what with the boys having a birthday party and cousins sleeping over.

Today we went on a long hike to Coyote Hills Park. We found several letterboxes. Jaden found a cool salamander. Here's some pics from the weekend!!

Jaden in Cub Scouts

Well, the dust has finally settled from the holidays and it's a good chance for me to post some pictures from the last month. Here's the first installment.

Lucas sure loves to help cooking! If only he wanted to eat too.

Over the Christmas break, we visited Linda and Don in Arizona. This is our trip to Rooster Cogburn's Ostrich farm. The deer were nice to feed. The ostrich? Not so much.

I have lots of pictures with the boys and the lorikeets. I will get more up because they are hilarious. This was the only one on my phone.

Jaden joined cub scouts, and of course loves it. He is very proud his uniform (and didn't complain about having to have his hair combed)

Val Vista Community Park

Lucas and I checked out a new park today..with an awesome playground. It was surprisingly empty given the morning was sunny and warmish! Here's a few pics of Luke.

Friday Fun

Well, this will be the first official post from my computer (and not iPhone) since my move. I just got back from my...fourth trip....to Trader Joe's since we got here. Maybe 5th. For as much as you can love a grocery store, I love this place. I bought 4 pounds of tangerines for $2.69. I nearly danced in the store when I saw that price. But of course, there were a lot of people and I didn't want to cause any injuries.

It's raining right now, and very dark for 5p.m. I still have to get some pictures of the neighborhood, I'll call it my weekend project.

Our moving fiasco is nearly at an end...our stuff is somewhere near Chicago. I actually used LinkedIn and Google to find the name and contact information for the Director of Corporate Client Relations. And called her. Very nice lady. I calmly suggested her company may wish to review its affiliation with American Household in Buffalo.
